Rob Underwood has two decades of experience leading marketing, sales, product, operations, and technology initiatives for both for-profit and nonprofit organizations, ranging in size from two person startups to Fortune 100 corporations, in both the private and public sector.
From 2013 to 2015 Rob was the Chief Technology Officer at Relay Graduate School of Education, where he oversaw product management and engineering. Until 2013 Rob was a senior manager in Deloitte Consulting's market and customer strategy practice. While at Deloitte, Rob founded the Digital Media Center with Deloitte's Venture Capital Practice and Deloitte Tax practice along with Silicon Valley Bank, NASDAQ, Cooley, and CT Partners to market Deloitte audit, tax, and financial advisor services to venture backed startups. Before joining Deloitte Rob was a senior manager at KPMG (BearingPoint).
Rob was one of the lead volunteers who organized NYTechResponds, the New York City tech community effort to help and organize Sandy recovery. In just 24 hours the NYTechResponds team compiled a database of nearly 900 volunteers who could be dispatched via SMS or email to various locations in the city where their technology expertise could be put to use for recovery efforts. Rob is also one of the city leaders working to expand software engineering in New York City public schools.
Rob is a certified information security auditor (CISA) and Six Sigma Black Belt from the Harrington Institute.
